The puff pieces we’re obsessed with

Voluminous sleeves are back for spring and with this trend, big really is better. The 80s influence on leading looks isn’t slowing down any time soon, so now is the ideal time to invest in some key pieces. Shirts, dresses and yes, even the much-loved boiler suit, seem to have all received the memo, with puff-sleeve designs now coming through on the high-street.

OK, pulling off this style with your day-to-day wardrobe can be a little tricky – after all, you want to make a statement but it’s got to be wearable- we hear you. Probably the best place to start is colour: stick to neutral tones, styled up with small details, like embroidered cuffs. When it comes to styling a puff sleeve, all eyes will inevitably be drawn to your shoulders, so keep the bottom half of your look super-simple. This doesn’t mean limiting your choices to plain jeans, though; try mixing it up with a satin-slip skirt or a wide-leg trouser. Keep the look current by finishing with a pair of barley-there sandals and a beaded bag.
