Jess Wood

Jess Wood, fashion features director at Marie Claire

My role means keeping my radar tuned for all forms of fashion newness and turning them into copy and content – whether it’s interviewing big-name designers, scouting out new brands and putting together seasonal trend reports, or giving our followers the inside scoop live from the shows over on our Instagram Stories.

My style in three words…

Colourful, clashing, vintage-inspired (technically, that’s four words…but, as I always say, more is more!).

Best fashion advice I’ve ever received…

I’m not good at taking advice. But if I were to have a golden rule, it would be to only wear what you love and never try to dress like someone else.

My biggest fashion fail…

A striped velour Mothercare dress to non-uniform day at school, age 11. Everyone else was in Levi 501’s and DM boots.

The famous wardrobe I would kill to own…

Couture-collecting socialite and gazillionaire fashion patron Sao Schlumberger.

My desert-island piece…

The OTT earring. Here are some of my current must-haves
